sobosuba play guide
Launch soft blobs and build bigger merges.
sobosuba is a physics merge puzzle where you shoot squishy numbered blobs into a container. Bring matching numbers together, make larger blobs, and work toward a higher score. The shape of the pile matters as much as the numbers on it.
A gentle launch can place a blob beside its match without upsetting the stack. A powerful shot can push other pieces aside and squeeze into a gap. Let the movement settle, notice what changed, and choose the next shot from the board you actually have.
- Your goal
- Build larger blobs and improve your score
- What makes it different
- Soft shapes compress, rebound and move the pieces around them
- First practice
- Try a soft and a strong shot toward the same area

Watch how the blobs deform, settle into gaps and change shape when they merge. Follow both the landing position and the force of each launch.
Five boards, five things to notice
Look for reachable matching numbers, open paths and the room a larger blob will need.
Choose the shot for the situation
| What you see | What to try | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| A matching blob is exposed | Place a gentle shot beside it | Keep contact without scattering the stack |
| The match is behind other pieces | Use a deliberate, stronger launch | The path after the first collision |
| The stack is getting tall | Make accessible merges to open space | Do not plug the next entry point |
| A bigger merge is within reach | Plan where the new blob will settle | The next match and anything between them |
Watch a longer playthrough
Follow the order in which pieces move after a shot. The space left by a merge can be just as useful as the number it creates.
Questions before you play
Is the browser demo free?
Yes. The embedded browser demo is free. The full Steam game is a paid product purchased through Steam.
Is this a mobile game?
The author describes the browser demo as PC-oriented. Start with a computer and mouse. The Steam version supports Windows and Linux.
Does it use the same controls as 2048?
No. Instead of sliding a whole grid with arrow keys, you select a blob and launch it with a chosen direction and strength. Deformation and collisions affect the result.
What should I practice first?
Find a matching number and look at the pieces between it and your shot. Begin with gentle placement, then use a stronger launch when you have a specific piece to move.
